The last week or so, Alyse has had a little runny nose. Over the last two days, her symptoms have gotten a little more serious. (Temp of about 101, coughing, etc.)
Last October she ended up getting really sick. (Remember the temp of over 104?) The Dr. said that it had been allergies that had lead into a cold and then a sever sinus infection. I didn't want the same thing to happen, plus she is going to spend the next week or so with my parents, so I decided tonight that I was going to get her all doctored up so we can get rid of this cold.
So, tonight instead of a bath I put her in a shower with a shower soother.

Then I washed her and lotioned her up with Johnson's Soothing Vapor Bath and Lotion.

The final step before I gave her Tylenol, put on her pjs, and put her to bed was to use some Vicks Baby Rub on her.

I started to rub it on her chest. Then I decided to put some on her feet. (You know you other moms have tried that too! Don't know if it works, but it is worth a try.) Alyse kept trying to get the bottle and then started saying "More, more" and doing the sign language. (McKenzie taught her that.) I decided that I would put a little under her nose and maybe it would help her breath better, plus she obviously didn't mind the stuff.
All of a sudden she started breathing in over and over again. (Think panting like a dog.) Then she would start laughing. She did this over and over again. I don't know if it felt good on her throat, or if she was tired, or she is delirious from all allergy medicine I gave her earlier today, or maybe the fumes were getting to her. However, I do know that it was hysterical to watch, and at least she was laughing and not fussing anymore!
*Maybe I am the only one to find it funny, but hey, if it you watched your kid do that, you would think it was funny too!
