*Sorry, I have to vent.....

I had to go to Target to get a few things today. Usually I enjoy my trips to Target. Today, not so much.

For some reason, Alyse was kinda fussy. She wanted to be held and would not sit in the cart. I really had to hold her anyway. The cart was a little wet from all the rain that we have been having and I also ended up getting a lot of larger items (a 40lb bag of dog food, a large box of dog bones, a box of bottled water, a box of diapers, etc.) which took up most of the cart. Holding her helped to keep her quite and made room for some other random things that I needed.

Then I got to the check out lanes. I'm not sure why, but there were only 3 lanes open. At first I figured that I wasn't in a hurry, so I could wait patiently, but after holding Alyse and standing there while some rather annoying little boy continually pushed a cart into my foot as his sister screamed for him to stop and his mom talked on her cell phone for 10 minutes, I was starting to get a little frustrated. Finally it was my turn. I paid, made my way out to the parking lot and was ready to get out of there.

I put Alyse in her car seat and then loaded all the items into the back of my Explorer. By the time I was finished and started to get in the car, I realized that Alyse had a very strong smell about her. As I was taking her out of her car seat to change her diaper, the car beside of me backed out of it's parking spot. Once it was gone, I opened my door, laid Alyse on the seat and began the changing process. I had just took off her dirty diaper and was reaching for the wipes when I looked and saw a van trying to park in the parking spot. I started to hurry the process along, but the lady in the van started to get very impatient with me. She started throwing her hands up in the air and then started beeping at me. As soon as Alyse was cleaned up, I picked her up, naked bottomed, and moved her over to the passenger seat. I then got in the car and leaned over the console to finish putting a fresh diaper on her. By this time, Alyse was not happy and began to cry. I was almost done when I hear a not so kind voice start yelling at me. I looked up to see the lady from the van who started to tell me how rude I was. Me? I'm the rude one? I looked over and said, "I'm sorry that I was in your way. I was trying to change my daughter's diaper." She continued to yell and told me that I should have found a better place to do that. I again apologized. She then went on to tell me that she was in a hurry and I was wasting her time by taking up two parking spots. So I replied, "Well, there are other places you could have parked." Then I closed my door. She swore at me, flipped me off, and walked away.

I was very upset. Half of me was furious. The other half of me wanted to cry.

I just don't understand why people can be so mean and rude.

Ok, thanks for letting me get that out.
