On "The Biggest Loser" last night, they said that in order to lose one pound, you have to burn 3,500 calories. This made me start thinking.
1lb = 3,500 calories
If I want to lose 30 lbs. I need to burn 105,000 calories!
If I want to lose it in 3 months, I need to burn 1,166.667 calories a day!
Good Lord!
Josh says that instead of trying to burn over 1,000 calories a day, I should try to burn 500 calories at the gym and then cut my calorie intake by 500.
This made me think of the calories that I do take in every day! Do I have to burn those off too?!
I am not good at math!!!!! I have no clue what I am talking about!
I want a cookie! Where are the Oreos?
No, no cookies. I have to go to the gym, or run around my house, or something! I have over 1,000 calories to burn today!
(Lord, why can't I just wake up tomorrow morning skinny? I have dedicated myself to you so that people will see you living in me. Please take my body! I bet they will see you more clearly if there wasn't so much extra weight in the way. You can do miracles! PLEASE!!!)

March 26, 2008 at 9:36 PMI'm with Josh...it's just as much about what you put in as it is about what you burn out. At least for me anyways, no matter how much I workout, if I don't eat right, not much changes. And remember, you are always burning calories (even when you are watching TV, playing with Alyse, cleaning, etc...just not as many as you do when you are working out obviously), but burning that amount is attainable! You can do it!!
