I have an announcement to make.
(I know what you are thinking. No! Soon....)

Today I did something that I have not done in over two and a half years.

I WORE A PAIR OF PRE-BABY JEANS!

Yes, that is right.

You all know that I have been trying to work my little butt off. Well, I reached my pre-baby number on the scale a few weeks ago. (I didn't tell anyone cause I was afraid with all the vacations that it might not last for long.) It has taken me awhile, but I finally got there.

How many pounds lost?
Well, I gained about 35 lbs when I was pregnant. (I don't think that is bad! It is in the "normal" range and I was pregnant for almost 43 weeks!) In Alyse's first year I lost almost 15 of those pounds, but didn't really spend a lot of time working out or dieting. Once I started going to the gym I actually gained about 5 lbs. So since March I have lost 25 lbs. I have also lost about 12% of my body fat.

I like to look at it this way....
My weight now + Alyse's weight now = less than I did the day I gave birth to her.

Plus it is much easier to put on weight than to take it off. It took me over 10 months to put the weight on. It took me about 5 months of focusing on it to really get it off. (18 months total)

Back to my story....
Today Josh had to go up in the attic to get something for a little project that I am working on. He opened up one of my "pre-baby" clothes tubs and asked if it was one of the tubs that I needed. I thought about it for a second and then decided that I would have him bring down the clothes, just so I could see how they fit. He pulled it down and I tried some jeans on right there in the middle of the garage. I was so happy when they actually fit. And they fit well. It isn't like I have to squeeze into them. After I finished jumping up and down and did a little happy dance I decided to try on a few other pairs of jeans and pants. I started with my favorite pair of black pants. They fit too! I will be wearing them to church tomorrow! So exciting!

There has been progress, but the job is not done! .....
I still have not met "my goal" yet. There is still a lower number (both on the scale and on the tag) that I have in mind. I am still going to be watching what I eat (well, except for the celebratory M&Ms I ate today) and I still will be going to the gym to work out.

Thanks for letting me share my news with you.
Now, I think I may go have one last M&M.
Ok, maybe not. I do want those jeans and black pants to fit me tomorrow!
No "Mommy jeans" for me!
