Josh and I really have been so blessed with purchasing things for Alyse. So many people have given us so much. Between everyone at MCA and Elevation, and our family, we were set on almost everything that we "needed".
We were flooded with diapers. We actually ran out of room for them. I even gave some away to other friends who were having babies. Just a few weeks ago we bought our first box of diapers. She was 7 months old!
My mom and dad also have given us so much. They have bought most of her clothes. I think that I have only bought like 5 outfits for her. (Thanks Mom for your love to shop, and thank you Daddy for letting Mom buy it all!)
We have also been lucky that she fits in her clothes for a long time. Some of the wintery stuff that we got when she was born still fits her. Today she wore a pair of 0-3 month jeans that didn't fit her before. She also wore a sweat shirt that Josh picked out for her before she was born. Her onesie was one that I bought for her to wear on Father's Day (It said, "My heart belongs to Daddy"), but it just now fits her. The only thing new on her were her socks and a pair of pink tennis shoes that I got on sale for $4.99 at Old Navy.
Anyway, as she has gotten older, we have started to make more and more purchases for her. I have really had to resist the temptation of buying her stuff. I always want to buy her more toys and clothes! (Why is there so much cute stuff out there?!)
Of course, the big purchases are formula, diapers, baby food, and wipes! Last week I bought formula, some baby food, a box of diapers, and a box of wipes. It cost me $100. That was with coupons!
BUT - Today was a good day!
You see, each week Josh and I have to budget in a can of Enfamil formula for Alyse. A can last us right at a week, give or take a few bottles. Each can is about $27. Sometimes we get the big can at Sam's, but on average, we still are spending about $27 almost every week. Well, today I was so proud of myself. First of all, I found a coupon for $10 off Enfamil formula at Target. Then, my friend Tammy gave me a $4 rebate check. Then, I discovered that Enfamil was on sale ($3 off) at Target this week. So, I purchased the $27 can for $10!!!! Go me!
I am praying this happens more often!

November 6, 2007 at 4:52 PMWe used to get a bunch of coupons for Enfamil, though I don't think we do very often anymore, but we never used it. I have been very fortunate to pretty much nurse him until he was able to start cow's milk. Anyway, if we get any more of them, I'll let you know and I can get your address and mail them to you. Formula is sooooo expensive, we had to buy it quite a bit for Nathan, and even a few dollars off can make a big difference.- Lisa said...
November 6, 2007 at 8:13 PMI have some Enfamil formula in my closet that I got during Arden's first year. Since I nursed and she would not take a bottle I didn't use it. I kept it because I knew that someone might need it. The dates are still good. If you want I could bring it to you on Sunday. Let me know.- Because of Love said...
November 6, 2007 at 9:57 PMThat would be awesome! I tried so hard to nurse, but I just couldn't do it. :( I got to about 5 months and then it was over. Oh well.
