I hope that you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving today!

We had a great day of eating and spending time with family. My mom and I prepared a meal for both Josh's and my family. I don't know how we squeezed 11 people around my dining room table!

Later in the afternoon, we went to join our friends, Joy, Doug, Mac, Jacob, Emma Grace, and Joyce. They are just like family to us, so we had to spend some "family" time together.

We also watched both the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade and the Carolina's Parade from right here in Charlotte, hosted by the beautiful Tonia Bendickson. (It was good to see her smiling face back on TV.)

Here is a picture of Alyse watching her first parade:

(No I don't usually let her stand that close to the TV!)

Alyse loved the parades. She also loved the Turkey song that I sang to her. This is how it goes:

He's big and fat and

Gobble, Gobble, Gobble

He spreads his wings and

Gobble, Gobble, Gobble

But when Thanksgiving Day is here, then it's our turn to

Gobble, Gobble, Gobble!

It was a great day, with a lot of great traditions! The only bad thing was that Josh had to work. Oh, well....

I'm off watch a movie or maybe some football with my dad, and then I am going to get some rest because I am either going shopping tomorrow or I am going to start decorating. (I think I am leaning towards the decorating!)

Stephanie, I do know who you are! I think we may have been in each others' presence before, but we've never formally been introduced! I'm also on that list of people you have for babysitting! I think you were at the Furtick's new house while several of us had come over on Saturday night to help Holly with unpacking. Anyway, shame we're not doing this intro in person, but ah well.

Feel free to link that. That was such a long post, but it honestly has become something really important to me as I've grown up and seeing other churches in the light of what I see of Elevation and how RIGHT we are getting it. :)
