I have the best husband ever. Each year for our anniversary, Josh plans a trip. It is always a surprise. (This started because our honeymoon was a surprise. Well, it was a surprise until about 10 minutes before we left our reception when our friend George told me where we were going. He also told me that we were getting engaged, so it was kinda fitting.) Well, this year we didn't really go away. We stayed right here in Charlotte. On Thursday morning, Josh told me to pack a bag and he would tell me were we were going when he got back from work. When he got home he told me that we were going to the Ballantyne Resort. He really went all out. He had booked us a golf view suite. (It was beautiful, plus Josh sat and gave me commentary on the golfers below.). That night we got all dressed up and had dinner at The Gallery. (It was very classy, and good too.) We then stayed in our room were I took a lovely bubble bath in the huge tub. Then we watched a movie in bed and ate warm Chocolate Chip Cookies and milk from room service. (Yummy!) Josh even let me take a $3.85 Diet Coke from the mini fridge (JUST ONE!). The next morning, I woke up to breakfast in bed and then a couples massage at the spa. (Very relaxing.) Then we went to go see the Bourne Ultimatum. (Josh got to choose the movie, but I told you that would be the next movie that we saw.)
I really enjoyed myself. It was nice to get away, but not go away. It was nice to sleep in! It was nice to leave Alyse at home and know that Mom and Dad would take great care of her. But most of all, it was nice to spend time with my wonderful husband!

August 5, 2007 at 9:35 PMWhat a cute couple. You were right by my house and we didn't get an invite to join you? It was our anniversary, too. Kidding! Love you guys!
