Well, the morning was just as I expected it to be. Very Merry!
We got up early. We read the Christmas Story, and then made our way out to see what Santa had left. Alyse was very happy with her brand new kitchen. She was so happy that she really didn't want to open anything else. Josh and I ended up opening almost all of her presents for her because all she wanted to do was play. I guess Santa did a great job with picking out the perfect gift for her.
Josh and I were thrilled to get a brand new laptop from my parents. (Yes, this blog is being written on it!) I was also very happy to have some beautiful new earrings from my husband and my parents gave me everything I need to do a makeover to our master bedroom. (Black and white. Can't wait!)
When all the presents we opened Danielle and Alyse enjoyed watching the Disney Christmas Parade together and then we sat down to have a big southern style breakfast. (Think grits, hash browns, gravy biscuits, eggs, bacon, etc..) Afterwards, we all settled down to watch "White Christmas" as Alyse played with her new toys.
Later in the afternoon Josh's two sisters and the men in their lives came over to join us for Christmas dinner. Then we exchanged our presents and had a great time talking and laughing.
This Christmas I feel so blessed. Not only because of all the presents that were under the tree, but also for the fun family time, and most of all, I feel so blessed that God loved us so much that He sent His Son to us. Thank you, Lord for your precious gift.
