Ever year we have lived here, we have heard about the lights in McAdenville, NC ("Christmas Town, USA"). Josh and I decided that after Alyse woke up from her nap today, we would take the 30 minute drive and go see the lights. We had been warned that there would be lots of traffic, but we decided to give it a try.

It was....ok. There were a lot of red lights (meaning brake lights) that we saw, but the actual Christmas lights were pretty. Plus, I love the idea that everyone decorates for Christmas. And it was fun to hear people shouting "Merry Christmas" out their windows and to hear the bells playing Christmas carols, but I wouldn't say it was the best lights display. (It kind of made Josh and I miss the old Marion Walkway of Lights - for those of you who know what I'm talking about.)

Anyway, it was a fun family trip. It only took about an hour to drive through the town. We grabbed a quick dinner and were home in time to put little Miss Alyse to bed.

Here are some pictures:

The lights in Marion are awesome! Jana lives right at the start of them and we have went down the last couple years and stayed the night and went through multiple times in one night. The boys love it, but I don't think we're going to make it this year. :(
