Back in May, I posted about the words that Alyse was saying. (Click here to read that post.) She was 14 months then. Over the past 5 months her words have multiplied.

Words that are very clear:

  • Mommy
  • Daddy
  • Josh (Yes, she still calls him Josh a lot of the time.)
  • Papa
  • "Mee" (That is suppose to be Grammy)
  • Zeke
  • Bo (Yes, she is still talking about him every day.)
  • Bubba
  • No
  • Yes
  • Yeah
  • Yep
  • Juice
  • Thank you ("Tank ew")
  • Please ("Peas")
  • More (She signs as she says this.)
  • Eat
  • Stop
  • Go
  • Hi
  • Bye
  • Yay ("Yaaaaaaaaaayyyy")
  • Weee (When she is having fun.)
  • Whoa
  • Door
  • Up
  • Out
  • Kisses
  • Love ("Ove", no L)
  • Ball
  • Shows ("Owes", no S - When she wants to watch TV that is what she says.)
  • Taggie (Her blanket)
  • Puppies
  • Dog ("Dawwwg", it is very southern sounding)
  • Boo (She thinks it is so funny when she says that.)
  • Peek
  • Yucky
  • Pooh (As in Winnie the Pooh)
  • Books
  • Ducky
  • Shoes ("Ews")
  • Bow (As in hair bow.)
  • Toes
  • Nose
  • Eyes
  • Mouth (Well, she kinda says mouth...)
  • Apple ("Ap-pull")
  • Chips
  • Cheese ("Cheeeeeeez")
  • Baby/Babies ("Bay-beee" or "Bay-beeez")
  • Sorry ("Sar-ree")
  • Amen ("mem")
  • Boys
  • Bath
  • Bubbles (Again, not that clear, but she tries.)
  • Splash
  • Jump
  • One ("un")
  • This ("dis" - when she wants something she will point to it and say "dis, please, dis")

2 Word combinations

  • It's a ("Itz za" -That is said a lot! As in: It's a puppy. It's a book. It's a _____)
  • Got ya ("Gawja" - Then she will jump on you or hit you. She does this with Daddy a lot.)
  • All done (She also signs when she says this.)
  • Excuse me ("Scuze meee")
  • Uh oh

She says a lot of words that I don't understand. For example:

  • "Sissy". At first I thought that was her passy. Then I thought it was her saying "Lysey" which is what a lot of people call her. I haven't made a final decision on what it is.
  • She is still also saying something that sounds like shoot ("oot") which her Daddy says a lot.

At times she goes on and on in her own baby language. I have no clue what she is talking about, but she has a lot to say. It is fun to sit and have a "conversation" with her. She can go on and on. My friend Joy says that she sounds just like Pebbles. She gets very into these conversations and her hands are usually flying all over the place.

She is also a little parrot. She will repeat many words. She will say colors, letters, and other random words that you ask her to say, and sometimes words you don't ask her to say... The other day Josh (jokingly) called me a meany. A few seconds later she walked up to me and said "Meany!" I guess we need to start paying more attention to what we are saying.
