For dinner tonight, Josh and I decided that we would go Uptown to a restaurant called Pike's Old Fashioned Soda Shop.
I had read about Pike's and though it would be fun to try. An old fashioned soda shop sounded fun, and I also read that they had filmed scenes there for the movie "Shallow Hal". (I guess that most of the movie was filmed here in Charlotte.)
We had a nice dinner. Nothing fancy. Just some burgers, fries, and milkshakes. It was very yummy. Alyse seemed to like it, especially the music.

I use to work for Mr. Pike at his pharmacy when I was just a kid! He gave me my very first job. But that was back in the day when he was off Shamrock. How fun for you guys! BTW your blog still looks funny on my end.July 21, 2008 at 10:34 PMI love Pikes, too! Haven't been down there in awhile - but it's a great little stop. Blog looks fine to me.
