Since it has been warmer outside I have tried to get outside more. I have been working on "my garden" (aka: 4 rose bushes and about 8 potted plants...3 of which are mostly dead!) and taking Alyse out to play in the backyard.

Josh and I have been trying to set up a little play area for her in "our woods" (aka: a very small wooded area). If you have ever been in our backyard, you will know that there is a very awkward little hill that you have to climb to get back to the back half of our yard. It is also difficult to make it back there without running into some "gift" from one of the dogs or being knocked down by one of their chains. (No, we don't have a fence.) So, after going through the whole obstacle course to get up to new play area, we then have to deal with "The Great Outdoors".

Let me just say that I am not a fan of bugs. I am also not a fan of dirt. So, sitting out in the backyard, watching my child get dirty and having bugs on her toys is not fun for me. She is also only 1! So, she isn't that expert of a walker. She is always tripping and falling down. She also is still into putting things in her mouth. She has ate a ton of dirt, leaves, sand, and other inedible things lately! (Yes, I try to stop her, but she is a quick little thing.)

I can honestly say that the only activity that I really enjoy while we are out "playing" is the swing. She likes it too, but I doubt that she will just want to swing and let the sand box, the little play house, the slide, the water table, and other fun stuff just sit there. Oh well! I guess a little dirt won't hurt her, or me.
