Well, Alyse is doing much better. She woke up this morning and had a temp of only 99 degrees. Eventually, it dropped down to normal.

Today has been the first day since Saturday that:

  • She has not had a temperature of at least 101!
  • I didn't give her Motrin or Tylenol.
  • She ate more than 3 oz of formula
  • She has slept without me holding her!
It has been a long couple of days, but we made it! Thank you so much to all my great friends who have called/e-mailed to check on her. Holly, Amy, Lori, Shannon, Janet, Kelly, McKenzie, Taylor, and of course Joy and Tammy - you guys are awesome. Thanks for the love and encouragement.

Most of you have asked what was wrong with her. The doctor said that it was a sever sinus infection, possibly with a touch of the flu. For awhile they thought it was pneumonia, but after the trip to the hospital for blood work and x-rays of her chest, they said that was not it. They also thought that it might be her kidneys or some other kind of bacteria infection, but her other test showed that was not it either. I don't really care what it was. I am just glad that it seems to be over!

The one thing that has been really nice is that Josh has been home almost every night this week. He has been in Federal Court for a case and has had "normal" hours (7am-6pm). I am so glad that he has been around to help me out!

Today was a good day because it was the first time that I have really got out of the house. (Except to go to the doctor's office, run to the store, or stop by the church office.) It was Tammy's birthday (Happy Birthday, friend!) so we went and did a little Christmas shopping, had dinner with the families, and then had a little game night. It was very nice to have some social interaction!

Now, however, I am headed to bed! Alone! Alyse is sound asleep in her own crib, and I am praying she stays there until the morning.
