Well, if you haven't heard by now, we had some excitement in the family. My dad gave us all a little bit of a scare.

On Sunday night, he went up stairs to go to bed. While he was going in to get ready for bed, he passed out. My mom believes that he was out for about 3 to 5 minutes. When he woke back up, he said that he felt fine, and he actually didn't believe her that anything was wrong until he saw that he had banged up his knees. He decided that he would just go to bed and then go to the doctor the next day, just to get himself checked out.

He went into the office on Monday morning and then headed to the doctor in the afternoon. After running some test, the doctor decided that he needed to go to the hospital. They believed that he had had a heart attack. Well, after a long night and many, many test, he was admitted to the hospital for the night.

Today, he had some more test, and we all spent the day hanging out in a hospital room.

Here is a picture of Alyse visiting her Papa:

All day, Dad continued to tell us that he felt fine, except he felt tired from all the blood they had taken, all the test he had gone through, and not being able to get to sleep. Late in the afternoon, the doctor came in to talk to him and told him that all of his test looked normal. Apparently, he is pretty healthy. They are not really sure why he passed out, and they believe that his heart is fine. They discharged him and sent him home to get some rest.

I have to say that getting a phone call that your dad has possibly had a heart attack is not so great. It didn't really seem real to me. My mom and dad were both calm and I think the Lord put a peace in all of our hearts. We all knew that he was going to be ok.

Of course, we were all worried about him, but if you know my dad, you know that he makes the best out of every situation. Instead of worrying everyone, he kept saying that he was fine and was checking on my mom. He called both Danielle and I and told us that we shouldn't worry. He even was handing out his business cards to nurses and inviting them to church. All the nurses were telling my mom that he was so funny and that he was a great patient. Plus, it is hard to worry about him when all he is talking about is where we should go for dinner.

I love my Daddy. I have always been the Daddy's girl of the family. (I still call him Daddy. Danielle.... she calls him Rick.) I hope he knows that he is a great dad. I admire and respect him so much. He is a wonderful man of God. He is so generous and loving. I could never thank him enough for all he has given to me and my family. I know that I can always depend on him and that he would do anything for me. I am so thankful that God gave me such a wonderful man to look up to.

I LOVE YOU, DADDY!!!!!!!

Wow, what a scare! I'm glad he's okay. It's also nice to hear you talk fondly of your father. It seems like so many people hate their dads or just plain don't know them. I've always gotten along well with my dad and love him dearly, it's refreshing to hear someone else who feels the same way.
