So this week has been much better than last week. As you can tell from my last post, last week was not the best week of my life, but I made it!
On Sunday things started to turn around for me. Sunday was the first day of our DOMINATE campaign at Elevation. I knew that Sunday was going to be exciting, but I didn't know that I was going to come away with an envelope full of money. I walked out of church with $50 in my purse. Yep. It paid to go to church on Sunday (and no it was not a reimbursement check from Joel, it was cash.) You see, Pastor Steven spoke on the importance of blessing others. So to start off the DOMINATE campaign right, the church gave away $40,000 and also didn't take up any offerings. This was all part of the Bless Back Project. To read more about it click here. Josh and I decided to join our money together with our small group. All together we had $155. Brad requested that we send it to an organization called Honduras 100. (They are building 100 churches in Honduras.) I am glad that our money could help others to worship each Sunday.
As I mentioned in my last post, I had a trip to the airport last week. I went to pick up our friend Nicki who Josh, Danielle, and I went to high school with in Sturgis. It was good to see her again! She was suppose to stay with Danielle, but she came to stay with me because Danielle got sick. So we had joint custody of her for the weekend. We really didn't do much. We just went out to eat, did a lot of shopping, and even more hanging out and talking. We had a lot of fun. I will post a picture when she e-mails it to me.
Monday was Josh's day off so we got to spend some time together. That night we took dinner out to the Bendickson/Lyon house to celebrate the arrival of David Asher. (Sorry that it took me so long to tell you his name!) It was fun to go out to see the construction zone that they are living in. That place is going to be so beautiful when it is done! Tonia looked wonderful. She seems so happy to be at home with the new baby, Cooper, and Ciara. (Even though I miss seeing her at 5:30 and 11 each night!)
Yesterday Josh didn't have DP (his normal overtime job) so he was home in the morning. (Which was great for spending quality time together, but not so great on the fiance department.) For some reason my child has decided to catch up on all her sleep that she skipped last week, so we all slept into 9:30! After breakfast, the three of us laid in bed and watched a whole bunch of shows that we had DVRed. It was a perfect morning. That afternoon, I went and met my friend Lori for lunch. I love spending time with Lori. She is such an awesome girl! After a trip to Target, I came home to clean up my house and actually sit down after a crazy week.
Today was my cooking day. Each week, I make a whole bunch of meals to put in the fridge so Josh can have a choice of what he wants to take for lunch and dinner each day. I also did some laundry and other household chores. I feel like things are a little more back to normal. So hopefully blogging (both writing and reading!) will be back in my schedule.
