I guess that summer is officially over. School has started. Labor Day has past. The pool is closed. Fall fashion has begun to be displayed. (A lot of cute things that I just can't afford!) But yet, it is still 90 degrees outside! That, my friends, is why I am so excited that we are headed to the beach!

I love the beach. I love the waves. I love the sand. (Well, I like the sand. I like it when it is cool and you can stick your feet into it, However, I don't like it when it is so hot that you burn your feet. I also like it ON the beach, not stuck on me, in my car, suitcase, etc. You get the point.) I love being able to sit back, relax, read a good book, and get some sun.

Today we head out to Topsail Island for a week. We have rented a house right on the ocean. We are taking the dogs, plenty of sunscreen, the camera, the camcorder, and way too much other stuff. It should be a lot of fun.

I'm not sure if we will have Internet access, so you might not hear from me for a week. But I am sure there will be plenty of pictures and stories to post when I get back!

Bye friends! I'm off to finally get a suntan!

WOW How do you have free time to post a message on your blog on the day you leave for vacation? OH - I know... It could be because your MOTHER is there to assist you!

My prayers are with you and Josh as you travel this evening and have a restful time tonight and tomorrow before we arrive. Be ready for the wind - the rain - and high surf on Sunday and Monday as a tropical storm crosses the outer banks area off NC. Great time for a DVd or a good book.

Josh & Stephanie, Alyse is getting so big and beautiful. I can't believe how much she has grown since April. I am not sure who I think she looks like. I enjoy looking at her pictures and reading what is going on with you guys. Maybe we can meet you guys sometime in the future at Concord or somewhere. Love you guys, Penny
